Premium in-game items are sold in “The Atomic Shop” in Fallout 76. You can get cool new things, like Power Armor skins, CAMP decorations, player emotes and even face tattoos! You purchase all of these with Fallout 76’s premium currency called “atoms”.
Here’s a simple guide to the Atomic Shop:
This isn’t pay-to-win, though. None of these premium items will give you an advantage in the game. However, they will make you much cooler! The items available are all cosmetic. You can buy different outfits under ApparelSkins. The C.A.M.P. category contains all the structures, furniture or variations you can add to your buildable in-game base. Under Styles, you’ll find face decorations like tattoos and face paint. You can unlock poses and frames to use in Photomode or unlock Emotes to make your character more expressive. Finally, there are many Icons to choose from which you can select for displaying in the Social menu alongside your name.
How do I get atoms?
Getting atoms is actually pretty easy to do. The easiest method is using real world cash. You can buy blocks of atoms through microtransactions and typically you’ll get a larger number of bonus atoms when buying larger packages. The free way to earn atoms is by completing challenges. You can view available challenges by going to the game menu and selecting “Challenges”.
Challenges are divided between Daily, Weekly, Character, Survival, Combat, Social and World. The Daily and Weekly challenges change regularly, while the others award atoms for typical game progression. Focus on the Daily and Weekly ones to max out your atom income.
